The Miracle of Curry

Curry is a seasoning typical of Indian and South East Asian cuisine characterized by a rather savory flavor, bright hues and exotic aroma. It has been said of late that curry, whether in its wet (i.e. mixed into sauces or made wit ghee or palm oil) or dry form, can lower one's chances of developing certain types of cancer, heal ulcerative lesions and lower one's blood pressure.

Curry is essentially made up of a number of spices and herbs, and not necessarily of every item listed below; in order of importance:

Turmeric
Cinnamon
Parika
Black peppercorn
White peppercorn
Cumin
Coriander
Fenugreek
Mustard (and mustard seed)
Chili
Allspice
Ground ginger
Nutmeg
Cloves
Green cardamaom
Bay leaves
Black cardamom pods
