Excellent Summer Wine

Dom Brial is an AOC white dessert wine from the south-east of France. The appellation is Muscadet de Rivesaltes and I absolutely adore it.

It possesses a nice bright golden "robe," light walnut; a rather discreet nose, thin coating of almond, hints of lychee. The mouth finds aromas of rancio and honey, warm-hearted final with a moderately tannic finish. Pairs very well with veined cheeses like Roquefort or Stilton.

The best recent vintages are 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2008. This particular wine is very much available at your local SAQ. You may want to check availability before you go. Visit the SAQ website to verify ahead of time, or click here.

Going a more mainstream route, Danish music-producing and DJ sensation Trentemoller maintains his ice-cold haunting rhythms and soundscapes, this one replete with the equally dark and haunting vocals of Marie Fisker.

Anders Trentemoller is releasing his new CD "Into The Great Wide Yonder" in May 2010.
